When you contact Styled By Syd or book a consultation, you may provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, selected service, preferred appointment time, and any notes or styling goals you choose to share.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to inquiries, schedule and manage styling appointments, send booking confirmations or related service communications, prepare for consultations, and provide the styling services you request.
Styled By Syd does not sell your personal information and does not use your information for targeted advertising.
Website analytics
Styled By Syd uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website and to improve the booking and browsing experience. Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, general browser and device information, traffic source, approximate geographic information, and interactions with website features.
We may measure events such as clicks on booking buttons, service selections, booking starts and completions, successful contact-form submissions, Instagram link clicks, and gallery interactions. Styled By Syd does not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, booking notes, Google Calendar event details, or other direct contact information to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and processes analytics information under Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices. Styled By Syd uses this information to understand website performance, improve user experience, and evaluate whether website traffic is leading to inquiries and bookings.
Google Calendar data
Styled By Syd uses Google Calendar to power appointment availability and booking. The calendar connection is authorized by the calendar owner through Google OAuth.
The website uses Google Calendar data only for the scheduling functionality described on the site. Specifically, the application may:
- read free/busy time ranges so the website can determine which appointment times are available; and
- create appointment events on the authorized Google Calendar when a booking is confirmed.
The application does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, data brokerage, or any unrelated purpose. Free/busy information is used to determine availability and is not displayed publicly with calendar event titles, descriptions, or other private event details.
Google authorization credentials and retention
The server may retain an OAuth refresh token or equivalent authorization credential so the booking system can continue communicating with the authorized Google Calendar without requiring the calendar owner to sign in for every booking. These credentials are kept server-side and are not exposed to website visitors.
Free/busy results are processed for scheduling and are not intentionally stored in a separate Styled By Syd application database. Appointment events created through the website remain in the authorized Google Calendar until they are changed or deleted by the calendar owner or otherwise removed through Google Calendar.
The Google Calendar connection can be revoked through the connected Google Account. When access is revoked or the calendar integration is removed, the application can no longer use that authorization credential to access Google Calendar.
Service providers
Styled By Syd uses service providers that help operate the website and booking workflow. These may include website hosting and infrastructure providers, Google Calendar for appointment scheduling, Google Analytics for website usage measurement, and an email delivery provider for contact-form and booking communications. Information is shared with these providers only as reasonably necessary to provide, measure, secure, and improve the website and scheduling functionality.
Email and booking records
Contact inquiries and booking notifications may be delivered to Styled By Syd by email and may remain in the applicable email account until deleted according to the business’s normal record-management practices. Booking details may also remain in Google Calendar until the corresponding event is changed or deleted.
Data security
Styled By Syd uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by the website. The production website uses HTTPS, and sensitive server credentials are intended to be stored as protected server-side configuration rather than in public website code. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data retention and deletion requests
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or support legitimate business operations. Retention may also depend on the settings and policies of service providers such as Google Calendar, Google Analytics, and the applicable email provider.

Third-party services
The website may link to or interact with third-party services such as Instagram, Google, and email providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Styled By Syd’s services are not directed to children under 13, and the website is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, booking system, analytics, or business practices evolve. When we do, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
